I am putting together a small set of generated stems for a remote collaborator, and one vocal stem has a short raspy texture. The musical idea is fine, so I would rather not replace the whole take. For comparison, I reviewed the same two bars in isolation. To make the comparison fair, I kept an untouched stem with the notes. My collaborator needs to judge the writing and balance, not spend the first listen wondering whether the roughness is intentional. I have already checked the original export, renamed the versions clearly, and listened through speakers as well as headphones. The noise remains in the same place, although it becomes less obvious at lower levels. My tentative plan is to keep the source stem, make one restrained repair copy, and label the result so nobody mistakes it for a new performance.
